Learn how to sculpt a detailed zombie head in Blender 2.54 in this free tutorial series. Make his brain exposed and his face scarred and gorged, with brains and goo oozing out! In a series of 10 videos I will take you from start to finish, showing you how to model the basic form, sculpting a human head, creating the brains, all the way to adding the final details on the skin by adding scratches, pits, and stitches. If you've ever wanted to model a detailed head - with a twist - now you can learn how!
A 360 render of the finished sculpt from the Sculpting a Zombie Head tutorial!
In Part 1 is an introduction to the tutorial series, where you learn how to setup your sculpt for a complex zombie head model.
In Part 2 we take the simple form of the head and continue to shape it, adding necessary details for any human head.
In Part 3 you will learn how to continue sculpting the human face by adding more detail to the basic form, including roughing out the main details on the ear.
In Part 4 we cut away the top of the head, (as though we are exposing the brain and slicing through the skull,) so that we can be ready to sculpt in all the brain details.
In Part 5 we start working on the brain detail. First I teach you the basics of how to sculpt the intricacies of the brain, then I and then I model the rest of the brain at 10x speed, so you can watch the whole process. Music: "Brainfall" by piano.guitar at Jamendo.com
In Part 6 I show you how to cut gashes into the right eye socket, and we also finish up the main details on the ears.
In Part 7 we add irregularity to the skull, adding ridges and dips. We add gashes in the head, and finally get to the good part: the brains oozing out and falling onto one of the shoulders!
In Part 8 we create the detail of the mouth, gouging out his left lips and adding in teeth instead. We also add some goo oozing out from his mouth. :)
In Part 9 I show you how to add the tiny details to the skin - the stitches across the cuts, the scratches on the surface, and the pits in the skin. After teaching the basics, I then speed ahead at 10x to show you the rest of the skin detail application process.
In Part 10 we are finished with the sculpting! Yeah! But to finish things off, I show you how to add some materials and a lighting setup. This video concludes the tutorial series!
